Becoming a safe and proficient pilot is like learning any new skill. It may seem difficult at first, but once you are in the middle of the learning process you will be surprised at how quickly you will learn and retain the information.  Each skill is built upon the previous one learned, and soon you will find yourself comfortably flying the airplane all by yourself.

The Sport Pilot license has certain restrictions that help make the initial learning process easier.  For example, you are not allowed to fly at night, in busy airspace, or through clouds without additional training beyond the Sport Pilot level.  With further training and experience, a Sport Pilot can earn higher ratings, such as the Private Pilot certificate.  But most people who desire to fly recreationally don’t need anything beyond the Sport Pilot certificate.
